Because of You, Sister Sister is So Much More Than Jewelry…
I’m so thankful to have had a sister who brought me so much joy in life—and continues to do so even after. Losing her was devastating, and it’s a weight I’ll carry forever. But what I didn’t expect was how much joy I’d find in her memory—sharing pieces of her with you and telling our stories through jewelry.
Each year, I’m profoundly grateful for the women who trust me with their stories, who are willing to share pieces of themselves to create heirlooms that will last forever. Transforming those memories into something tangible, something meaningful, is a privilege I hold close every day.
What began as a way to honor Ellen’s memory has become so much more. It’s about celebrating the connections we all hold dear—the love, the loss, the resilience, and the joy that shape us.
Thank you for letting me play a small part in your lives and for reminding me, time and again, why this work means so much. Your trust, your stories, your memories—each one is a gift I’ll never take for granted.
With love and gratitude,
Lisa (Sister Sister’s Founder)
Inspired by Loss, Enduring for Generations
Since starting Sister Sister, our collection has grown from just 10 pieces to over 50—each one rooted in someone’s unique story. While no two stories are ever the same, my hope is that every piece resonates in its own way. At the heart of it, we’re all just stories in the end.
Here are seven stories we celebrated this year—each one filled with love, resilience, and meaning.
The Virginia
Inspired by the late Virginia and a family heirloom, this ring embodies the love of siblings. When Virginia’s youngest daughter, Rosie, lost the original opal ring gifted to her by Virginia, her brother Rob was determined to remake it. Using his memory and a painting of Virginia wearing the ring, he created a new piece that celebrates their unbreakable bond.
The Kay (Custom Design)
Kay’s daughters wanted a ring that captured her spirit. Adorned with pink sapphires, it reflects her favorite color and the strength of her love. Kay’s story is one of perseverance: overcoming health challenges, enduring personal loss, and finding joy in family vacations. The sand dollar symbolizes her determination and fond memories of time spent by the sea.
The Jude
Jude, crowned Miss District of Columbia in 2023, has survived six heart attacks and now uses her platform to advocate for heart health. Our collaboration celebrates her journey—a story of triumph, perseverance, and giving back.
The Danielle
Created in collaboration with Gem Gossip, this charm symbolizes the connections that matter most. Combining key and seashell motifs, it honors Danielle’s love for her grandmother, childhood memories at the beach, and her passion for jewelry.
The Brenna (Custom Design)
Brenna’s custom ring celebrates her long-awaited pregnancy after a journey through infertility. Designed with a sprouting seedling and pearl, it symbolizes new life emerging from struggle and hope.
The Patricia
Hallie designed this tanzanite ring for her mom, Patricia, inspired by a photo of them holding hands. The two rings, worn separately or stacked, represent their enduring connection and shared love of jewelry.
The Amanda
In collaboration with Amanda of Lola & Tae, this ring honors the birthstones of those we hold dearest. Inspired by Amanda’s love for her children and her journey as a mother and entrepreneur, it’s a piece designed to last a lifetime.
