Sisters standing under the cherry blossoms in Washington DC

Hi, I'm Lisa and I LOST MY SISTER TOO SOON...

Although I miss my sister Ellen every day, I take comfort in the fact that she knew how much I loved her. I made sure to tell her often, and one of my favorite ways was through the gift of jewelry. Each piece I gave her represented a special memory or experience we shared, and whenever she wore them, she was reminded of our unbreakable bond.

What I didn’t expect was for those gifts to turn into treasured heirlooms after she passed away. Those pieces of gold are not valuable because of their material worth, but because they represent the love and connection we shared. This realization made me want to help others honor their loved ones through meaningful and personalized jewelry. It’s the perfect way to celebrate milestones, remember special moments, and tell a unique story.

If you want to show someone how much you care, there’s no better way than to say, “I got you this because it reminded me of you.” Let me help you find a piece of jewelry that will become a cherished treasure, a symbol of love and connection that will last a lifetime.

The Sisters

THE SISTERS

It’s impossible to share the inspiration behind the designs without telling you about my sister. She loved dark nail polish. Her favorite lipstick was any shade of red. She always picked sunflowers because they reminded her of our stepmom. She devoured hash browns not in the mornings, but right before bed. She had a natural gravity that pulled you in and once you were there she listened for hours without judgement. She laughed at the most inappropriate moments in a manner that demanded attention from the entire room. She didn’t have a drink of choice, but instead preferred wine, tequila, and Pisco Sours; in that order. She kept a nasty habit of gifting me the same present that I planned to give her. It was always something to stack: necklaces, bangles, or rings.

When I lost her, I clung with desperation to the things that reminded me of her. Those little, dainty pieces of gold are jam packed with memories of our joy. She’s not here to gift them anymore, but I am. I designed each piece with a woman in mind. The type of woman who builds you up and sees you when no one else does and is stronger than they appear; the type of woman like Ellen. And I hope they bring you the same effortless joy they provide me.

THE DESIGNER: Lisa Maurer

On my 30th birthday, my sister gifted me real gold, the forever kind, and I made a mental note to outdo her on hers. After I lost her, I started dreading her birthdays so I set out to change it into something joyful, something meaningful, something so full of her. I thought of the three gold stacking rings that she wore every day. I drew and 3D printed a replica after those classic bands and named it after her. The only flaw in my plan is that I had no one to gift the ring to. That’s when I started to design jewelry named after women she loved as a reminder of their connection to help guide them through the darkness. I launched the initial designs on what-should-have-been my sister’s 30th birthday. Ever since, I’ve designed 14k gold jewelry for women who want to feel seen and cherished. Each of my pieces are named after and celebrate their stories to serve as a reminder that we are all connected and never alone.
