A few months ago our founder, Lisa, opened up her Instagram to a DM from a producer at Wake Up with Marci. They’d discovered Sister Sister Jewelry and wanted to feature the story behind our brand.

Wake Up with Marci is a “Talk Show with Heart,” focused on spreading hope and empowerment – a perfect match for Sister Sister’s mission of celebrating women’s stories through meaningful jewelry.

The Beginnings of Sister Sister

“I lost my sister several years ago. She had gifted me my first solid piece of jewelry. That was really important – I didn’t realize it at the time – but it became a piece that I really coveted. Whenever people asked me about it, I had a story to tell. That’s really the crux of what started everything.” 

Finding Design Inspiration

“Every design starts with a story. Since I’ve started designing I have celebrated over 50 different women with designs that really highlight their attributes that are remembered forever.”

The Sister Sister Difference

“My favorite part is the one on one of sitting down with somebody and starting untraditionally by not asking, ‘What kind of gemstones do you want? Or diamonds? Or shape?,’ but starting with ‘Who is this for? Tell me their story.’ Once you start going back and forth, they light up because they’re telling you their memories and what they love about the person. Then, very naturally, the design pops off the page.”

My Top Takeaway from Meeting Marci

Marci wrapped up the interview by saying, “I feel like your sister is working through you,” and I couldn’t agree more. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to share the Sister Sister story with Marci’s audience.
