For as long as our founder, Lisa, can remember she’s had the travel bug. To her there’s nothing better than waking up in a strange place; the more unfamiliar the better. It’s where she learns the most about herself and whoever she’s traveling with (for better or worse).
So when her former colleague turned friend asked her to join her on the last leg of her Asia trip – Lisa said yes on a whim. Nothing was planned. They both just showed up in Japan only knowing where they were going to sleep for the first three nights. The rest was made up along the way. The stayed up way too late in Tokyo, received good and bad fortunes at temples in Kyoto, and had a somber day in Hiroshima.
Lisa could go on about everything she loved (the Tuna now lives on in her dreams), but her favorite thing was getting to know her friend better. More specifically one night, they ordered in Thai food and binge watched a thriller series (The Undoing). It’s the epitome of a girls night: chattering about who-dun-it, planning for the next day out in the city, and gossiping about whatever comes to mind. Lisa showed her friend the most authentic version of herself, and her friend reciprocated.
And while Lisa can do a girls night in anywhere; she’ll always remember the one in Tokyo.
