Honoring our connections across generations

Lola’s story starts where all of ours does – with her mother, Caitlin. Caitlin is a lover of travel and long time expat, who has spent the last 13 years living in New Zealand, Italy, France and Switzerland. Her endless travel started after she graduated from university where she landed a job that she hated. When her best friend suggested a working holiday in New Zealand, it only took Caitlin a month to apply for her visa and get on a plane. The rest is history.

Caitlin met her partner, James, in Geneva in early 2017, where they live with their daughter, Lola, who just turned one, and a dog, Clementine, who is her best mate. Caitlin’s favorite part of the lifestyle she created is learning to adapt to new cultures, languages, and ways of life, and exposing her daughter to it all.

While Caitlin built her life an ocean away from her beginning, her greatest inspiration remains her mom, Betsy. She’s taught Caitlin to love fiercely, to fight for those in her corner, and to be true to herself. She’s her go-to for any hard advice that she’s needed throughout her life.

After having Lola, Betsy traveled to Geneva to help Caitlin adjust to motherhood. Following one of those many special visits, Caitlin wanted to create something that bonded Lola, herself, and her mom. She envisioned a ring with each of their birthstones together, side by side, in order of succession stacked with her diamond ‘pushing’ band that James gave her after Lola’s birth. When tilted forward, the gemstones look like a crown, which seems fitting for a band that represents the two most important females in her life.

The Lola 14k Gold Generation Ring 

Lola’s ring is designed to celebrate our generational bonds by placing birthstones together, side by side, in order of succession. The namesake of this ring is the third generation in a family and her mother describes Lola as the cheekiest, funniest little character. Her personality is apparent at only a year old and she loves to make everyone around her laugh. She’s easy going, very adaptable, and loves people, especially her cousins. Lola absorbs books and shrieks with glee every time she sees a dog.
